How Do I Verify an Employee's Documents? |

An Employer is not expected to be an expert in detecting forged documents. However, you are expected to apply the standards of a reasonable person in detecting if the documents a prospective employee gives you are suspect or not. If documents appear to clearly be a forgery, such as the use of different size type on the same document, altered, or clearly appear to be photocopies of required documents, you may be put on notice of the possible use of forged documents.
